Uppers Café and Bakeshop is a new family business located at 2024 Broadway in Santa Monica. Open six days a week, we specialize in baking custom European pastries, cookies, bagels and cakes—including our signature honey cake that has rapidly become a customer favorite—using only fresh, high-quality ingredients. We also make delicious sandwiches and salads, as well as a range of gourmet coffees, with traditional, hand-crafted expertise.

Owner and head baker Raimonda Gintaliene and her husband are originally from Lithuania and have made Santa Monica their home for the past 15 years. Uppers’ official opening on September 15, 2021 marked the realization of their lifelong dream. “We fell in love with Santa Monica the minute we got here,” says Raimonda. “Our kids went to local schools. It’s our home. We had a big dream to make the food we loved by hand (everything from scratch), and darn good coffee, and share it with everyone. We are grateful for the patronage and support of the loyal customers that have made our success possible. Uppers looks forward to serving the local community for decades to come.”
